Events & Venues

Need testing done before an event? We can turn around short-notice bookings for AV kit, catering equipment, and temporary setups.

Electrical safety testing equipment

Proper kit, not a borrowed tester from a van.

Our engineers use calibrated PAT testing equipment that meets IET Code of Practice requirements — visual inspection, earth continuity, insulation resistance. Every item gets the full check, not a quick pass-and-label job.

Your certificate before
we leave the site.

No waiting around for paperwork. You'll have a digital certificate and full item list emailed to you the same day — ready to forward to your insurer, landlord, or council straight away.

FAQs

Questions we get asked
a lot.

If yours isn't here, just get in touch.

Do I actually need PAT Testing?
If your staff use electrical equipment at work, yes — you're responsible for making sure it's safe. It doesn't have to be a big deal, but it does need to be done. Most businesses get it sorted once a year or every couple of years depending on the environment.
How often should it be done?
It depends on how the equipment is used and where. Office kit in a clean environment usually needs testing every two to four years. Schools, construction sites, and anywhere with heavier use tend to need it annually. We'll give you a straight answer on this when we visit — no upselling.
  • Class 1 — earthed appliances (kettles, microwaves, desktop PCs)
  • Class 2 — double insulated (most laptops, power tools)
  • Class 3 — low voltage (battery chargers, some LED lighting)
Who is qualified to do it?
The regulations say the tester needs to be competent — meaning they have the right training and equipment. As a family business we take that seriously; our engineers are fully trained and insured, and your records will hold up if your insurer or a health and safety inspector ever asks to see them.
What actually happens on the day?
One of our engineers turns up, works through your appliances one by one, applies a pass or fail sticker to each, and flags anything that needs attention. Most visits take a couple of hours depending on how many items there are. We try to keep out of your way as much as possible.
What kinds of appliances get tested?
Anything that plugs into the mains — computers, monitors, printers, kettles, microwaves, extension leads, power tools, lamps, projectors. If it has a plug, we can test it.
Do you cover my area?
We cover Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, and Buckinghamshire. That includes Oxford, Reading, Swindon, Aylesbury, Abingdon, Didcot, Witney, Banbury, and most places in between. Drop us a message if you're not sure — we'll tell you straight.
